{"id":47,"date":"2009-04-14T16:30:17","date_gmt":"2009-04-14T23:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rubschlager.com\/matt\/?p=47"},"modified":"2009-04-14T16:30:17","modified_gmt":"2009-04-14T23:30:17","slug":"iphone-magic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rubschlager.com\/matt\/iphone-magic\/","title":{"rendered":"iPhone Magic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve resisted writing this for a while now so that I didn&#8217;t come across as some sort of deranged Apple fanboy as you read this. \u00a0However I&#8217;m still struggling to measure my words now which is kinda sick.<\/p>\n<p>Allow me to pull you back in time&#8230; \u00a0Back in December Angie wanted an iPod so that she could use it to store her German language lessons on it and for whatever other purposes she liked. \u00a0She didn&#8217;t get one for the Winter Solstice celebration so she turned to her geeky husband to get one for Valentine&#8217;s Day. \u00a0Knowing how technical things go in and out of style for her I lent her my iPod for a month to see if she&#8217;d like using it &#8212; and continue using it. \u00a0Turns out she did and so it was up to me. \u00a0Admittedly I hadn&#8217;t been expecting this outcome so I was kind of behind the\u00a0proverbial\u00a08-ball. \u00a0However it turned out that our cell phone contract was coming to an end so I tried to figure out an angle where that would help.<\/p>\n<p>I decided to get us iPhones &#8212; a new phone because our Razor&#8217;s were a bit outdated, and an iPod wrapped in an iPhone for Angie. \u00a0With the AT&amp;T discounts and getting refurbished devices the cost was fairly reasonable. \u00a0The reveal is a lengthy story so rather than babble on here, I&#8217;m just not going to.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, these stinkin&#8217; smart phones have a way of burrowing into your day-to-day life. \u00a0I don&#8217;t know that I&#8217;d be able to go back to a regular cell phone having had one now. \u00a0I&#8217;m sure that&#8217;s music to the smart phone manufactures and the cell companies around the world. \u00a0So be forewarned. \u00a0If you like keeping things simple DO NOT get a smart phone, let alone an iPhone. \u00a0They will eat your soul &#8212; the iPhone just a little less than the others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve resisted writing this for a while now so that I didn&#8217;t come across as some sort of deranged Apple fanboy as you read this. \u00a0However I&#8217;m still struggling to measure my words now which is kinda sick.
