It’s been a long, long time. The one-off commutes between Portland and Seattle will pale in comparison. The wandering tours around the Pacific Northwest will become short jaunts. I’ve decided to take the motorcycle on a round trip tour back home to Chicago from Portland.
This most certainly won’t be easy. I’ll be pushing mileage back-to-back that I haven’t done before. The weather back east hasn’t been the most conducive to this endeavor yet. Snow and ice, along with running out of time, will be the only thing which make me turn back.
I’ve planned out my route, along I-80, and have begun identifying things along the way which I can stop and stretch my legs at. The thing that concerns me most, given the weather and the timing of the trip, are the passes in the Rockies. I won’t know until I get there just what state they’re in.
Stay tuned…
