So if you’ve been following my marathon journey you’ll undoubtedly be aware of the freezing temperatures (literally) facing me. To add to the bad omens I’ve managed to pick up some in between a head cold and a sinus infection. Any other race and I’d read these tea leafs as a clear sign to not participate. I’m not ruling that out as a possible outcome, but I don’t want to give up that easily. I can remember with heavy regret the “doh” feeling of having not participated in what would have turned out to be a excellent race had I just woken up early enough or not second guessed the weather. For that reason I’m going to continue along the path.
The Health & Wellness Expo was spectacular. There were vendors there from around the country selling their wears. Also in attendance were products that I’d only read about in Runner’s World. I can’t adequately describe it here in this space and do it justice. If you ever have the chance to go it’s well worth it — even if you’re not participating in the marathon.
I’ll probably write another update to the pre-race jitters tomorrow night so stay tuned.
