Mutant Pig Man

OK, so not a mutant pig man, but still a pretty fun story.

I’d opened the windows to get some fresh air in the house shortly before Angie had come home from class.  We were sitting on the couch in the family room talking when we heard a splashing noise.  It was the splashing noise of a four legged beast romping through the wetland behind our house.  We know the sound as an occasional dog will find unending joy splashing around in the muck, while earning a good bathing with highly scented shampoo in the process.

Thinking there’s another dog enjoying life we begin to chat again.  However, not before two words are uttered we hear a spine tingling sound, an other worldly sound.  Bushes, plants rustling, and a grunting squealing noise is becoming louder.  We hear it enter the back yard due to the hooves on gravel.  It tears between the houses and we can hear it out front grunting and squealing.

People often ask if we like living here in Oregon.  All I can say is that we’ve had more bizarre experiences here than we ever had in the Chicagoland ‘burbs.
